I made this compare because I have been feeling poorly about my self-image. I have gained about 20lbs (some is muscle, most is not) from my previous weight (142lbs). I have been picking on myself today, allowing room for self-pity instead of celebration for all I have conquered.
I retired this hoody after NYE because I felt like a busted can of biscuits. I gained another 25lbs during that year. I came across these photos while cleaning my computer!! And guess what hoody I’m wearing!! The universe is telling me to buck up! I am posting this as a reminder to myself that yes i have gained back weight, but weight doesn’t=fat. My bodies shape is completely different and I am more powerful than ever!Loading... -

Black bean burgers! Thank you to my classmate who gave me this recipe~
- Drain one can of black beans
- Mash with a potato masher
- Sautee half of a large onion and two cloves of garlic until golden in color
- Add to beans and mash again
- Flavor with any seasonings you want
- If the mixture is too sticky, add bread crumbs or uncooked oats to help absorb moisture and hold it together
- When the consistency is right, form into patties or meatballs or whatever
- Cook in a pan with olive oil until brown and crispy on both sides
You can really use any vegetable. Mushrooms, bell peppers, or corn would be good and would make it more colorful. I flavored mine with nutritional yeast, lemon pepper, and barbeque sauce. Served plain with a spinach salad because I didn’t have buns :c I don’t like beans at all, but this didn’t have bean texture or taste, so I liked it~

- Please warm up before stretching to avoid hurting yourself!
- Aim to hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds.
- Don’t force your body. Take it slow and your flexibility will come with time.
- Give your body rest days!

I know my body is far from perfect, but I bought my first bikini. I cried in the dressing room when I tried it on. I used to cry because I couldn’t fit in the swinsuits and I felt like I looked disgusting. This time, I cried happy tears. I still need to tone up my midsection more, but I am proud of how far I have come. 60 pounds down!
